I tried to get Matt when he was leaving Halesowen, We spoke at length on the phone. I've been hugely impressed with him the last week, he's come in and he's very single minded, he's got that 'look' and edge about him which I like.
Let's not get it confused he's been brought in to score goals. He will have all the support and trust from me to do that. He's on a similar path to Joe (Palmer) in terms of where they have come from and I expect him to be on the same upward curve as Joe in 12 months.
Of course he's got aspects of his game to work on but the basics are very good in terms of his movement, pace and physicality and most importantly his ability to finish.
